General Information
Dolomites Chamber Music Holiday is a chance for amateur adult musicians to unravel their passion for music by making it with new friends and being surrounded by the enchanting Dolomites landscape in the Italian and Austrian Alps. Our program will include adult students of string, piano and woodwind instruments. The event takes place concurrently with the Orfeo Music Festival, allowing participants to interact with distinguished artists and the talented international music students attending and attend their daily concerts. This year pre-formed or newly formed chamber groups will practice compositions by Haydn, Mendelssohn, Mozart, or Schubert among others. The coaching will be offered by the distinguished faculty artists of the Orfeo Music Festival. Dolomites Chamber Music Holiday participants will enjoy busy daily concert schedule and traditional Tyrolean hospitality. At the end of the week participants will reward our audiences with invigorating and inspired music making at the final afternoon concert.

*Yoga classes with Gabriella Strümpel are offered and open to everyone regardless of age, gender, fitness, flexibility or strength. They offer a combination of physical, breathing, and mental exercises such as visualization and directed awareness. Participants can expect an increased flexibility, strength, concentration, and awareness, thereby improving general health. Gabriella Studied yoga with Urvasi and Ananda Leone, attended their 3-year teacher’s training and has been teaching since 1997. She specializes in yoga for musicians, taking into account their disposition to specific physical ailments, as well as preparing them mentally and emotionally for performances.

We always encourage repertoire suggestions from musicians attending the holiday program which typically fall within classical to early twentieth-century standard repertory works.
