Application Checklist
- Application (available for download here)
- 2 passport-size photos
- Application Fee $150 money order/cashier's check (non-refundable)/$180 after February 1
- Video Recording (VHS or DVD only; 2 contrasting pieces – virtuosic and cantilena, 15 min. maximum, returning students are exempt from submitting a video recording, but all competition applicants are required to send a video )
- Letter of Recommendation
- Repertoire List – solo and chamber
- Only if you are applying for the competition: complete the appropriate section in the main application form and submit the competition entrance fee $130 ( $180 after February 1) money order/cashier's check (non-refundable). Last year's winners are not eligible.
March 1
- Notification of acceptance and scholarship winners
March 10 (postmarked)
- Fees due: $2,900 (Category B hotel)/$3,200 (Category A hotel) money order/cashier's check/credit card (through Paypal, add 4% processing fee) includes tuition, hotel room, breakfast, meals at cafeteria (except on free days), use of facilities, master classes
Add $900 money order if registering for Conducting Course, Collaborative Piano Course, or Additional Instrument Course to supplement your instrument/voice program
$200 Pianist Fee for Voice Students
- After tuition is paid students must submit Performance Repertoire Requests Form for solo and chamber performances (available here )
- $1,800 Auditor’s Fee per person is payable if a student is accompanied by another person (includes attendance as an observer at coaching sessions, room and board (except on free days), and use of all facilities)

- Reservations and payment for optional excursions
April 30
- Notification of soloists, repertoire and chamber music assignments
- Notification of the First Round winners of the Schlern International Music Competition
-Reservations and payment for bus to and from the Munich airport.
May 10
Competition First Round Winners: Submit by e-mail your Second Round program to the festival office after consulting with your teacher - two contrasting works from standard repertory to be performed by memory not exceeding 15 minutes (short piece, movement of a larger composition) and a set of pieces approved by the teacher for vocalists
June 10
- Last e-mail notice to all participants before festival begins
June 25
- Arrival Day

- Opening concert
July 14
- Final outdoors concert
July 15
- Departure Day
